Having booked a table three months ago, last Saturday was finally the day we could go to Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone! I booked it as a birthday treat a few months ago so was excited to see what it was all about.
We took our place at the high table, right next to the kitchen…..
and started with a cocktail and some bar snacks. First up, the most delicious fried chicken with ranch sauce.
Along with crab stuffed doughnuts!
Soon after, the starters arrived. I opted for the grilled Galician octopus with aubergine, daikon and mushrooms. This was my favourite dish of the evening.
The birthday boy went for the hay roasted squab with cornbread, walnut mole and yoghurt.
We both had the same main course – chargrilled Iberico pork with seared courgettes and swiss chard pickle.
We ended the night with the best key lime pie. Don’t be deceived by the outside, just look at that gooey middle!
